At about 03.00 hours on the 25th October, 1339, whilst

in Deep Bay (British waters) a grey motor boat about 30 feet in length flying the Japanese flag approached my junk from the direction of LIN TIN (

away the crew of the motor boat opened fire with a machine gun.
A number of bullets struck my junk. I called my sister named

PANG WO(), 17 years, who was sleeping in the cabin on
the starboard side of the junk, and asked her to hand up the
rifles. She handed up two rifles. I took one and my younger

brother named PANG FUK), 15 years, took the other

rifle and we fired four shots at the approaching Japanese motor boat. I then fired my cannon with 8 pounds of shot. The Japanese motor boat stopped firing and turned around and steamed away in the direction of LIN TIN Island. I then went to the cabin at the stern of my junk and found that my sister named PANG WO had been shot in the right buttock. 1 then set sail towards Castle Peak. At about 04.00 hours when sailing off CHRUNG SHA WAN (
5) I saw No.3 Police Launch at anchor. I went alongside and informed the European Officer in Charge of what had occurred. The European Officer then took two of my sisters including the injured one and myself aboard his launch and conveyed us in to Hong Kong, where my sister named PANG WO was removed to the Kowloon Hospital. There were 23 of
crew aboard my junk including myself. I could not see anyone aboard the motor boat as it had armoured plating around it. flag was a white flag with a red spot in the centre.
